Nathan has a thing for brooms. Whenever he sees one, he grabs it and starts cleaning up! We've joked that he just may be a janitor someday! Nothing wrong with that! But we laugh over his broom obsession. :-)
We went outside to play the other day, and the big barn broom got the best of him:

Ben works long hours, and the kids don't often get to play with him. They love the days that he gets out early and they have extra time to crawl all over him! (Daddy loves it, too!)

I'm not exactly sure what plaything Daddy was this time. He was half slide, half swing, I think? Whatever he was, the kids made his legs hurt! lol!

(Oh, by the way, Rach - did you see above Ben's head?? I finally hung some pictures and my PL sconces! Ok, you really can't tell...but, they are perfect there! When's your next visit?) ;-)

Some of our family and friends who regularly read our blog don't know something very important that has happened to our family, and we want you to.
I asked the Lord to save me two Wednesday nights ago.
I thought I asked Jesus into my heart when I was 4, but especially in the last several years, I have greatly struggled with doubts that would not go away. I do not remember praying and the things that I do remember about that day have caused me to question my understanding as well.
My pride has kept me from admitting to both the Lord and especially to men that I just wasn't sure that I was saved.
Through God's Word (Rev 21:8 - I was always fearful) and the recent testimonies of 2 people, I finally surrendered and told the Lord I didn't know and wanted to know for sure! Praise the Lord for His promise, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!" Romans 10:13
I prayed that the Lord would use my testimony to help others who are also struggling with doubts. Pride has a strong hold on our life... But, God's Word tells us we can KNOW we are saved!
The Lord answered my prayer in a way I never expected.
Monday night, Ben asked the Lord to save him.
He, too, remembers talking to his parents when he was 3 1/2 about going to heaven and not wanting to go to hell.
In the last few weeks, he struggled with head knowledge versus heart knowledge. God brought to his mind Matthew 7:21-23:
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
He knew that believing (head) just wasn't enough - he had to receive (heart) Jesus (John 1:12).
(By the way, do you want to know what the "will of the Father" is? John 6:40, "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.")
The only way to heaven is God's Way.
Romans 10:9-11:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."
